Volunteer Information

Get involved by donating some of your time during the conference as a volunteer. Anyone is eligible to volunteer; however, students will have first preference.   Simply select the discounted Volunteer option when you register ($100) and we will contact you with more information and to sign up for shifts.

Shift Descriptions

  • Audio Visual/Presentation Gathering – Monitor the speaker ready room and collect presentations from speakers during assigned hours. This entails copying presentations from a thumb drive or CD onto a computer and placed in the appropriate session folder. The job requires knowledge of computers and power point.
  • Directional Staff/Surveys - Help attendees find their way around the conference. Directional Staff receive a conference map and FAQ sheet to assist them. Ask attendees survey questions during networking breaks and meal breaks. This job involves walking, answering questions and asking survey questions.
  • Registration Desk - Work at the IAWF registration desk during the conference. Give attendees their registration badges and materials at check-in and answer general questions. This job involves a lot of talking.
  • Session Monitor - Monitor a session room to keep talks running smoothly. Ensure all presentations for that session are properly loaded onto the presentation computer. Report any problems to conference staff. This job involves walking, answering some questions, some computer skills and being available if speakers or moderator needs assistance.
  • Tote Bag Stuffing - Help insert literature into the tote bags given to all attendees at the meeting. This job involves standing, lifting light items and working on Sunday or Monday before the conference.
  • Miscellaneous Helper - Assist with activities or needs as they arise.
